Quality Issues with VR Video

The majority of VR cameras use more than one sensor and stitch images together to form 360 degree video. Usually we use 4K or HD for standard video which is a much smaller view angle - so VR cameras must be much higher resolution if you want comparable quality.  If you are using a standard video codec then some of the assumptions used by the codec will no longer be strictly accurate. Compression can result in artefacts due to the geometric distortion in the frame.
